Two SMSH employees recently graduated from the State Personnel Board's Certified Public Manager Program.
Mississippi State Hospital employees were among almost 50 government employees
representing numerous Mississippi agencies who recently graduated from the
Certified Public Manager® program offered by the Mississippi State Personnel
Board. Delbert Hosemann, Mississippi Secretary of State, gave the keynote
address at the CPM ceremony.

Willoughby graduated from the CPM Program held June 6, 2017, in Jackson. Hess, of Pearl River County, is the Risk
Management Director at SMSH. He was initially hired in May 2006 and left
briefly in 2012 only to return in 2013. Willoughby, a native of south Louisiana,
has served as the hospital’s Psychologist and Program Director since September
2003. He currently lives in Hattiesburg.
The two presented a project
entitled, “Streamlining the Formal Debriefing Process,” that was awarded model
Public Manager® Program combines classroom training and experiential learning
leadership and supervisory skills in managers of state agencies. Participants
levels of course work, successfully complete real-world projects, and pass
written examinations in order to complete the certification process.
