REGISTERED NURSE -- (FULL-TIME)

POSITION SUMMARY:  To provide quality care and treatment to the adult psychiatric patients in an acute-care setting. Implements the nursing process in an organized, systematic manner to include assessment planning, intervention and evaluation. Actively participates in treatment planning.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED​:  Current Mississippi RN nursing license required.

ACTIVE TREATMENT TECHNICIAN (ATT) TRAINEE -- (FULL-TIME)

POSITION SUMMARY:  Responsible for working with adult psychiatric patients in an acute care setting. Documents patient activity, provides full-body care for patients if needed, takes vital signs, and observes/assists with recreation therapy.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED​:  Must have 30 hours of college -- NO exceptions.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT (MEDICAL RECORDS) -- (FULL-TIME)

POSITION SUMMARY:  Responsible for admissions and maintenance of medical records; requires knowledge of administrative and/or clerical procedures; proficient in Microsoft Office products (such as Excel, Word, etc.); relieves on multi-line telephone system.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED​:  Must have six years clerical experience with at least two of those years in Health Information Managment/medical records.

WORK SCHEDULE:  Day Shift:  Monday - Friday; 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

HOUSEKEEPER -- (FULL-TIME)

POSITION SUMMARY:  This position is responsible for general housekeeping duties in a hospital setting.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED​:  Must have a high school diploma or GED and two years of working experience in housekeeping.

WORK SCHEDULE:  Day Shift:  Monday - Friday; 7 a.m. - 4 p.m.

PURCHASING AGENT -- (FULL-TIME)

POSITION SUMMARY:  This is a very important position at SMSH.  This position is crucial in both clinical and administrative operations.

This position is responsible for the following:             

• ​Initiate and assist in all activities involving purchasing, storage, patient supplies and equipment and distribution of general/office supplies.

• Planning and carrying out the purchasing of supplies and equipment.

• Delivers or dispenses supplies to the Clinical Units and Administration.

• Complies with the management of the physical environment of the Materials Management warehouse.

• Keeps an inventory of all South Mississippi State Hospital property assets.

• Works on special projects or temporary assignments as directed by supervisor or project leader

• Knowledge of SAP computer software is a pLUS

• Must be able to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook

• Must be willing to learn new software program to be installed after the position is filled

• Must stay within the boundaries of all laws of the State of Mississippi for purchasing requirements

• Must be willing to take on new job responsibilities when requested​

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED​:  Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in business administration, accounting, or in a related field; AND One (1) year of experience related to the described duties. OR Graduation from a standard four-year high school or equivalent (GED or High School Equivalency Diploma); AND Five (5) years of experience related to the described duties.

​​SECURITY OFFICER -- (PRN/CONTRACT)

POSITION SUMMARY:  Responsible for the security of patients, employees and grounds. Duties vary according to shift worked.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED​:  Must have two years experience in law enforcement or security. High school diploma or GED required. 

WORK SCHEDULE:  PRN/Contract (as needed); All Shifts; includes weekends and holidays (see shift times below).

CAMPUS POLICE OFFICER -- (PRN/CONTRACT)

POSITION SUMMARY:  Responsible for the security of patients, employees and grounds. Duties vary according to shift worked.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED​:  Must have completed a curriculum approved by the Board of Law Enforcement and have two years experience in security or law enforcement, one of which must have been as a sworn law enforcement officer. Must possess a current full-time State of Mississippi Law Enforcement Professional Certificate. High school diploma or GED required.

WORK SCHEDULE:  PRN/Contract (as needed); All Shifts; includes weekends and holidays (see shift times below).

POSITION SUMMARY:  This position is responsible for general pharmacy technician duties to include delivery of medication to clinical units.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED​:  Must have a Pharmacy Tech Certification.

WORK SCHEDULE:  PRN/Contract; Day shift, Monday-Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. as needed​
